Johnson City, TENN. – On Monday, January 6, 2014, Robinson Animal Hospital opened the doors of its new building located just off North State of Franklin Road at 3026 Peoples Street, Johnson City, TN 37604. With 3,700 square feet, the new veterinary medical facility features state-of-the-art technology, four exam rooms, and separate cat and dog waiting rooms. There is a staff of eight technician assistants and Dr. James Robinson and his wife, Kim Robinson.
The new facility exhibits clean neutral colors with accents of blue and green, picked by Kim Robinson, with hardwood flooring. Dr. Robinson commented on his favorite part of the building, “I love the windows. You can see outside from everywhere. You can see the mountains from the surgery room. You can see the traffic of State of Franklin Road; it’s like watching fish in an aquarium.”
The Johnson City general contractor, Mitch Cox Construction, completed the construction of Robinson Animal Hospital on December 15, 2013. The Mitch Cox Construction team that worked with the Robinsons was Scottie Lane, on-site senior superintendent; Mike Cannon, architect; and Raymond McBride, company president. Robinson said, “Scottie made it his own, he would even come by on his day off; Mike made our design as productive and efficient as possible; and Raymond was just a pleasure work with.”
The site selection and timing of the project proved to be advantageous for the Robinsons. PetSmart is less than a minute up the street from the new Robinson Animal Hospital, and Banfield Pet Hospital closed down in April 2013. Also, the new location allows Robinson to serve the Johnson City community more expediently. “Because of the new location, I am very close in case of an emergency if a pet gets sick or injured.”
The hours of the award-winning veterinary practice are 7am-6pm Monday-Friday, 8am-6pm Saturday, and 12pm-5pm Sunday. It is the only clinic open on Sunday afternoons in the Tri-Cities.
