Tracy Fleenor Participates In Dancing With the Tri-Cities Stars to Raise Funds for SteppenStone Youth Services
On June 9th, MCC’s Chief Financial Officer and development partner for 26 years, Tracy Fleenor, took the stage at the MeadowView Convention Center during the 10th annual fundraiser benefiting SteppenStone Youth Treatment Center.
Named after ABC’s nationwide show, Dancing With The Tri-Cities Stars follows a similar format involving a dance competition performed before four judges, two of whom are Mike and Kim Adler, two time World Champions in the Couples Division of The United Country Western Dance Council (UCWDC). According to the website, the judges “score and provide both humorous and evaluative comments to the dancers after each dance.”
As one of the 10 local “Stars” selected from the Northeast Tennessee community, Tracy Fleenor spent numerous hours practicing her dance selections and then performed on the night of the event.
“It was an amazing experience for a very worthy cause,” said Fleenor. “It helped me to step out of my comfort zone and do something that I am not good at (dancing) for the benefit of Steppen Stone. I came away humbled and with many awesome new friends!”
All proceeds from the event benefit SteppenStone Youth Treatment Services, a Tennessee 501 (c) 3 non-profit organization which provides a safe, caring environment for boys 13-17 years old who have experienced significant trauma, abuse, and/or neglect and have developed emotional and behavioral issues. Since its founding in 2003, SteppenStone has helped these young men heal and develop skills to become successful, healthy adults through year-round residential treatment, foster care, adoption, and a fully accredited school.
