Shannon K. Castillo

 

On January 13, 2014Shannon Castillo started her first day at Mitch Cox Companies. Her role will begin as an assistant to founder and CEO, Mitch Cox, and then will shift into an Affiliate Broker position with Mitch Cox Realtors, Inc. towards the end of February 2014 after she sits for her Tennessee real estate license exam.

 
Mitch Cox said, “Shannon possesses several skill sets that I believe will help the Mitch Cox organization continue to grow. We are excited to have her join our team.”

 
Prior to Mitch Cox Companies, Castillo worked with the Washington County Economic Development Council as the Director of Redevelopment for 16 months. In this role, she recruited new businesses, worked closely with the city officials of Johnson City, developed relationships with downtown business owners and worked on the tax increment financing for downtown Johnson City.

 
In addition, Castillo was the Director of Marketing and Community Outreach at Milligan College from 2011-2012 and was an award-winning Executive Sales Professional for Sanofi Pharmaceuticals from 1999-2010.

 
Castillo earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Business and Communications from Milligan College. She is the secretary of the board of the Friends of Olde Downtowne, a member of the organizing committee for the Blue Plum music and arts festival, and a former member of the Board of Advisors for Milligan College.

Originally from Ohio, Castillo is a twenty-two year resident of Johnson City with her husband, Jose Castillo and their two daughters. Castillo enjoys throwing parties, hanging out with her kids, and watching a good soccer game.

 


Ekin Huddleston

 

Ekin Huddleston started as Assistant Community Association Manager at Mitch Cox Companies on Monday, January 13, 2014. Some of her responsibilities will include collecting and managing the owner information of eleven communities currently under management, providing customer service and communications between management, community boards and owners, and assisting in accounting processes.

 

As Huddleston works directly with Sharyon McKinney, Senior Community Association Manager, she will learn about the association governing documents, landscape management, and property maintenance. Over time, Huddleston will develop into a full management role as additional community associations are added to the approximate 500 homes currently under management by JMC Management Company.

 

McKinney said, “We are delighted to have Ekin join our team. Her experience and skills will allow us to become more efficient in current operations and will lay the groundwork for future community association growth.”

 

Born and raised in Istanbul, Turkey, Huddleston came to the USA as an excelling tennis athlete. In 2012, she married her husband, Sam Huddleston, a physician out of University of Tennessee-Memphis, and moved to Johnson City 1.5 years ago.

 

Prior to coming on board with Mitch Cox Companies, Huddleston was a Senior Partner with String ‘n Swing LLC and an Assistant Branch Rental Manager for Enterprise Rent-A-Car in Memphis and Kingsport. She has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications from the University of Memphis with a concentration in broadcast and media.

 

Huddleston said, “I look forward to working with Sharyon and learning all about association management, especially the landscaping elements. I’ve always enjoyed a green thumb and now I get to cultivate the eyes and mindset behind a well-developed green thumb.”

 

Huddleston enjoys reading (favorite author: Francine Rivers), the outdoors, and coffee.
