Johnson City, TENN. – The Reeves Eye Surgery Center is holding a formal ribbon cutting ceremony and open house on Thursday, March 27th, 2014 at its new location, 2328 Knob Creek Road, Johnson City, TN 37604. The event will feature a free LASIK surgery sweepstakes, hands-on learning experiences about eye care, food provided by Sam’s Pizza, desserts provided by Three Dimension Cake Design, and drinks provided by Universal Wine. The ribbon cutting will take place at 5:15 in the evening followed by an open house until 8:00.
The Reeves Eye Surgery Center is a solely-owned, state-approved surgical treatment facility dedicated to ophthalmology. The new surgery center is the only treatment facility within a 30 mile radius in Washington County to provide technology-intensive eye surgery procedures. Some of the services include bladeless LASIK surgery, laser-assisted cataract surgery, and laser-assisted eyelid surgery.
In 2013, U.S. Army veteran and founder, Donny Reeves, M.D., was spotlighted in the Washington County Economic Development Council’s video as a high-growth business in Johnson City. Dr. Reeves opened his first location in Boones Creek in 2012 with four employees. Next week, he will be cutting a ribbon in front of a new 3,266 square foot high-tech surgery treatment facility with a 15-person staff.
“As an independent and solely-owned practice, it has been a phenomenal experience to be able to serve the community with a high-quality doctor-patient relationship,” said Reeves. “The new surgery center represents an opportunity to provide eye care for the community in a deeper and safer way.”
The Johnson City Chamber is hosting the ribbon cutting ceremony and Mitch Cox Construction, Inc., is co-sponsoring the open house.

Another feature of the building includes Z-Wave technology which allows the thermostat, fire alarm, security system, and generator to be controlled from a tablet computer.
