The first ever Tri-Cities Franchise Business Expo was held April 19 at the Millennium Center in Johnson City. The expo featured informational sessions, workshops and discussions regarding what it takes to be an entrepreneur and finding the right franchise fit. Several franchisors attended to provide information about available franchising opportunities. The event was sponsored by Mitch Cox Realtor, Inc., FranNet, Bank of Tennessee, the City of Johnson City, the City of Kingsport, the City of Bristol, Carter County, Washington County, KOSBE and the Small Business Development Centers of Tennessee.

“This expo presents a one-of-a-kind opportunity for people interested in starting their own business,” said John Speropulos, President of Mitch Cox Realtor, Inc. “Franchise success is greater than that of independent startups. After 10 years, only about 10% of independent businesses are still in business, while over 85 of franchises are still in business.”
