Mitch Cox Companies hired new team members in 2018 at the company’s headquarters in Johnson City, Tennessee. Here’s a little bit about each of them.
Director of Operations
Kathy Daye is originally from the Annapolis area in Maryland. She admires the family work culture at Mitch Cox Companies and the company’s ability to achieve significant growth while also maintaining a high commitment to philanthropy and volunteerism in the community. Daye enjoys mentoring, sports-related activities, and cooking. Her life story involves being a competitive gymnast for 15 years at LSU.
Executive Assistant for SVP of Operations/Revenue Management
Previously, the Director of Sales for Best Western and Holiday Inn Express in Johnson City, Strickland found her place at Mitch Cox Companies and values the community service and helpfulness of the company. A Kingsport native, she enjoys hiking, exercising, being a mother, dancing, and spending time with friends and family. She is the owner of a huge Standard poodle named Panda.
Born and raised in Johnson City, Jackson held financial services positions at a bank prior to coming to Mitch Cox Companies and prizes being able to do work that is both challenging and in line with his college degree from King University, where he played baseball. In fact, he had an offer to pitch for a professional baseball team in Europe after graduating from King but turned it down due to sustaining injuries.
Executive Assistant to the President and Vice President of Mitch Cox Realtor
Originally from Kingsport, Truelove was working at Northeast State Community College before she joined Mitch Cox Realtor last month. She has found her new teammates to be nice and easy to work with. She enjoys cooking, biking, hiking, and camping with her family. Her nickname is Mel and she is a big fan of horror movies.
PROMOTED: Lisa Fleenor
Senior Business Analyst
Lisa Fleenor was promoted to Senior Business Analyst after joining Mitch Cox Companies 12 years ago while obtaining her Bachelor’s Degree at ETSU. Fleenor’s extended tenure has provided her with an organic expertise and well-rounded understanding of each departments’ contribution to the bigger picture of the Mitch Cox Companies organization.
“What I am probably most excited about is the opportunity to continue growing professionally with an organization that I have great respect for,” she said. “Not many people can say, ‘I’ve spent nearly 40 percent of my life working for the same company.’ Even fewer can say that with a smile. I am blessed with an abundance of things to be thankful for—MCC is one.”
