Another historic renovation is underway.

Greg Cox, co-developer and co-owner with Johnson’s Depot, LLC, hired Mitch Cox Construction to rebuild the offices of the CC&O Railroad Depot into Johnson’s Depot, a 2,400 square foot office and retail space annexed to Tupelo Honey Cafe – Johnson City.

The two-story building will feature retail space on the ground floor. On the second floor, the seven offices will be renovated into fresh office spaces retaining the original look and feel of the historic depot. The offices were used by train schedulers and operators in the early 1900s.

While heavy interest has been expressed by several potential tenants, Cox said, many are waiting to see the final outcome before committing. Each of the offices range in size with rent estimates of $500-$700 per month.

Mitch Cox Construction estimates a project completion date of mid November 2014.
